In Her Own Words:

“I was one of those kids that loved to go to the dentist; my sister was convinced I was adopted.”

Truth be told my pedodontist and orthodontist were extremely nice people and made a big impact on me so that I knew very early on I wanted to be a dentist and impact other people’s lives that same way. Of course my sister went to the same dentists growing up and she would argue I was just crazy.

Now let’s face it, root canals get a pretty bad rap for the most part, so what better way to make a difference than proving them “not so bad” after all? Thus, after my UCI undergraduate education I went on to USC School of Dentistry and received my D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree in 2002. I practiced as a general dentist for four years and decided it was time to go even farther. That’s when I moved to Cleveland, Ohio and attended Case Western Reserve University for a two year residency where I received my specialty degree in Endodontics as well as a Masters in Surgical Dentistry (M.S.D.).

I’m thankful every day for the opportunities that have come my way to lead me to my present day career. I absolutely love hearing my patients say they thought getting a root canal would be a lot worse than what they just experienced.

That right there makes it all worth it. That right there puts a smile on my face every single time, and I send a silent thank you to my childhood dentists every single time.

Why Choose an Endodontist

There are many reasons to choose an endodontist for root canal therapy and related procedures. First and foremost, endodontists spend at least two years in advanced training focused on diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the interior of the tooth. Thanks to this expertise, they are known as the experts in saving teeth.

Endodontists have much more experience in root canals and related procedures than general dentists. Endodontists can perform 25 or more root canals per week, whereas a general dentist may perform less than two in the same week.

Endodontists use state-of-the-art technology to help them quickly diagnose and treat patients. Equipment like operating microscopes, digital imaging technology and fiber optics are found in most endodontists’ offices.

Endodontists are flexible and available in dental emergency situations. Most endodontists are able to easily and quickly accommodate a patient experiencing significant dental pain or discomfort.

If you are experiencing persistent tooth pain, or if your general dentist has recommended you see an endodontist, contact Irvine Root Canal and request a consultation with Dr. Arshia Kasravi. Call (949) 748-7373 or email our practice today.
